David participated in the Youth Exchange
“Volunteering – journey to success” in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy

Hello David! Can you give us an overall opinion on the project “Volunteering – journey to success”?
This was the first time I have participated in a European youth project, and certainly not the last. The experience has been unbeatable, mainly due to the big effort of the organizers and coordinators. Both socially and “academic”, all the activities were very suitable and pleasant. Every small detail of the project was well planned, and the enthusiasm and affection with which all the participants have lived each day made this exchange a unique and priceless experience.
How did the group affect your personal experience during this youth exchange?
I have no doubt that one of the most decisive factors (maybe the most) that made this experience something unforgettable was the group of people with whom I have shared it. I consider a privilege to have met such wonderful people from whom I have learned so much. From each of the countries (Cyprus, Estonia, Italy, Bulgaria and Romania) I have learned something. It is inexplicable how knowing different cultures, customs, ways of thinking and conceiving day to day, you can get to enrich as a person. In short, I return to Spain with a bit of each of the people with whom I shared these days, and whom I would like to see again in the future.
What is the most important thing you have learned during the project?
In relation to the subject of the project, I must highlight how I changed my opinion about volunteering. I was able to learn about the different personal experiences of colleagues who had previously participated in EVS or other volunteer programs, and all of them agreed on the many benefits that it has. So much it changed my opinion that I have already requested several volunteers opportunities for this summer. And, on the other hand, another thing confirmed by this project is how enormously satisfying is to travel, meet people from other countries and cultures, participate in projects that promote youth action in Europe, and ultimately live unforgettable experiences.
PS: Thanks again to Asociación Projuven for letting me know this wonderful world of European youth projects!
