From May 5th to May 10th 2017, the Erasmus+ project “Empowerment of your future“ took place in Torremolinos (Metropolitan Area of Malaga).As a coordinator of the project, Asociación Projuven hosted 20 youth workers coming from Italy, Slovakia, Estonia, Greece, Romania and Spain.
During the training course the participants had the opportunities to discover and realize how youth entrepreneurship initiatives can be a significant impact on local communities in terms of active citizenship and also to improve their compenteces and key skills, as means to promote greater participation in democratic life in Europe and in the labor market, as well as intercultural dialogue and social inclusion. The youngsters could develop a broader understanding about the soft skills required for their successfully future and ability to innovate. Through methodologies of non-formal education, the project aimed at sharing competences, attitudes and skills and at the same time stimulating participants’ awareness of their own learning process.
On 9th May, the participants celebrated together with people of the local community, Europe Day. In the main square of Torremolinos, they could get in touch directly with youngsters and discussed the opportunities of Erasmus +. A lot of people were interested and came to learn more about the work of the European Union and young people wanted to check out the opportunities which the program offer for them. All the participants and local people wrote their message for Europe, wishing peace and unity for Europe and all the world.
In addition, the mobility gave them the chance to discover the host territory, to exchange cultures, typical food of each country, dances and traditions through an intercultural Night and at the same time to obtain new useful knowledge for their professional and personal development.
