#PJstories – Interview with Jesús

Jesús participated in the Youth Exchange

Volunteering-journey to success in Castellemmare di Stabia, Italy

Hello Jesús! Can you give us an overall opinion on the project “Volunteering – journey to success”?

In my second project with Asociación Projuven the experience was great, as in the first one. Although the topic has not been worked as much as in the previous one, these are always enriching experiences that give you a lot of knowledge and discoveries. Furthermore is not about just to train yourself on the specific project theme. Is about to discover a new city, its wonderful corners, the way the local people are acting. To live with extraordinary young people from different parts of Europe, gives you a life prospect which is impossible to capture if you are not a little adventurous and you are used to stay at home as you usually do.

How did the group affect your personal experience during this youth exchange?

The group, as in all the projects that I have been able to participate until now, is always formed with very nice people. It is true that due to the large number of participants and the short duration of the project you can`t manage to communicate with everyone, but always could find wonderful people, whose make you not lose your hope that the positive things are achievable in a world where values are not desirable. And as time goes on, you keep in touch with those people who have marked you and with a pinnacle of fortune you find them again sometime in your life. In this aspect I feel very lucky because since I started participated in different projects, I would like to meet again with about 15 people with whom I share great moments.

What is the most important thing you have learned during the project?

The most important thing I have learned is due to the coexistence with people from different cultures and different ways of seeing the life, appreciating their attitude, customs, humor and also their behavior in different environments throughout the week. This cultural enrichment acquired unconsciously and wrapped in illusion, expectations and happiness remains for all of us.
