“Empowerment of your future” in Torremolinos (Málaga),Spain
Hello Alejandro! Can you give us your opinion about the project “Empowerment of your future”?
In general, the project has been a very rewarding experience since there have been seminars of multiple current issues making them easier to understand and also the cooperation with all project participants. In addition the course gave me the opportunity to obtain new useful knowledge for my professional and personal development and at the same time be part of an international environment. Anyway, I am very grateful for this course. I think it is very important to promote the intercultural experience among the youth, through these types of programs, because it helps you grow as a human being and discover things about your own culture and personality.
What does “empowerment” mean for you?
For me it is a process whereby people strengthen their abilities, confidence, vision and leadership, when they are part of a social group, in order to promote positive changes and improve their lives. Power is our ability to create, sustain, change and consciously contribute to our future. In my opinion, learning from those around us is the most fundamental thing for our personal and professional development.
What is the most important thing you have learned during the training course?
The most important thing I have learned is the cooperation that has been created between all the participants coming from different countries, the support that we had between all of us and also the mutual understanding. Another thing I have learned was to be resolute with the activities that we had throughout the course. I would like to highlight that the most I liked during the sessions was that each participant was talking in front of us about their personal experiences depending on the topic. Thanks to the course we have been able to evaluate and increase our competences, developing those that are most important for our future. We could increase the level of creativity, innovation, self-confidence and confidence in non-formal educational tools.
