Berta participated in the “Equal Differences” Youth Exchange (Lithuania)
Hello Berta. Can you please give us a general opinion about the “Equal Differences” project?
It has been a very intense project, involving open discussions about touching topics such as gender differences and violence, human rights and conflict resolution. The activities were properly programmed and the organisers motivated the group and encouraged participants to get more and more involved in the project.
How did the group affect you personal experience during this Youth Exchange?
I hadn’t participated on a Youth Exchange before, so the group dynamics have meant a lot to me. How to build the group, the feeling of working as a team no matter where you come from or what your background is… Also the good vibes and values of everyone both while working and enjoying free time. Thanks a lot to every participant that has now become a friend to me!
How did the YE change your personal views about gender equality?
I started the project having previously studied a lot about gender differences, so I really wanted to share ideas and points of view with other people from different backgrounds. Learning through personal stories made me get to the conclusion that we should speak about equity more than equality, and education in gender differences and tolerance is needed everywhere in the world.
