#PJstories – Interview with Michael Andre

Michael participated in the Training Course “Drive the change” organized by PROJUVEN in Torremolinos, Spain

Hello Michael! Can you give us your opinion about the project “Drive the change”?

The project “Drive the Change” exceed my expectations and I left the project more than satisfied. I really appreciate the balance between information given by the educator and the time which we had for developing our own projects. Secondly, in my opinion it was great that the group was full of diverse, motivated and knowledgeable participants which gave us the opportunity to learn from each other. For me, the most interesting parts were guided discussions within the group, which showed me the different perspectives on specific subjects. The project taught me about importance of intercultural cooperation. Furthermore, I had the oportunity to expand my personal network, which I believe, I can use in the future for the professional cooperation too. I didn´t notice any logistical issues and communication with organizers was handled professionally from the beginning till the end. This experience widen my horizont and I would definitely recommend it to all active young people. Last but not least, I really appreciate that the last day I learnt more about other opportunities which are funded by European union.

In your opinion how can Social Entrepreneurs create value for our society?

I realized that added value of Social Entrepreneurs is more than just creating the job opportunities. I believe that with proper planning and an appropriate business model are these kind of businesses  providing long term, sustainable solutions by addressing the social, environmental or heath issues.

What is the most important thing you have learned during the training? How do you plan to share and use your knowledge?

There are 3 things which this project gave me and I value them the most. First of all I met extraordinary people who became my friends and I believe that with some of them there is the possibility to cooperate at some point in the future. Secondly, I learnt that the purpose of a business can go beyond the profit and can help to make the world a little bit better place. Lastly, I learnt how to create and properly assess the business plan needed for a creation of a new company.

I will write an article about my experience which will be published on the ADEL (slovak partner) website.
