#PJstories – Interview with Juan Arturo

Juan Arturo participated in the Youth Exchange “You(th) can do it smart” in Cerasu, Romania

Hello Arturo! Can you give us an overall opinion on the project “You(th) can do it smart”?

This was my first project with Projuven and as such, it was an adventure for me, to enter an unknown area, away from home, but always eager to acquire new knowledge and discover new cultures. Of course, the last one has been fulfilled to a great extent since living together with such different companions and also the opportunity to enjoy Romania have made this project one of the best experiences of my life.

How did the group affect your personal experience during this youth exchange?

If something had to stand out from the project, they are the reason. From the beginning of the project, during our travel to Cerasu with the bus, everyone was open, cooperative and eager to know us. The relationships formed in those types of projects, despite the short duration of the mobility, are very strong and I hope they can be maintained over time, keeping in touch and visiting us in the respective countries of origin.

What is the most important thing you have learned during the project?

One day we did a simulation of an assembly of a town in which the mayor tried to carry out a project. During this time, we had to debate, argue and try to convince the members of the assembly that our vision and position was correct. I think the discussion in a language different of our native was really interesting and instructive, and I am sure that the conclusions we drew after will be useful in the future.
