Asociación Projuven is hosting the first mobility, part of KA2 project “IMCEskills” in Malaga, Spain

On 26th of April,  Asociación Projuven has received  14 participants from Italy and Bulgaria, part of the first mobility of the KA2 Project “Innovative approaches and non-formal methods to promote creative potential and entrepreneurial skills among young people” (IMCEskills). The partners of the project are Academy future for business development (coordinator) from Bulgaria, Futuro Digitale from Italy and Asociación Projuven from Spain.

During the first day of activities, the participants have been welcomed by the students of I.E.S. Sierra Bermeja (Secondary School) in Malaga, where they could meet some of the young people who will participate in the second mobility in Bulgaria, held in March 2018. The partners presented the project purpose and developed the theme of Entrepreneurship and the importance of exchanging ideas about what a successful business is.

During the afternoon, participants visited the Ronald Mc Donald Children’s Foundation in Málaga. The foundation was a case study example of International Cooperation Project within the Fundraising sector. Participants had the possibility to see how the non-profit industry works with respect to the medical field.

The McDonald Foundation is “a home away from home” for children who move away from their usual residence for medical treatment. Since 1997 in Spain, the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation has been working to build and maintain homes located near the best pediatric hospitals in the country: the Ronald McDonald Houses. The purpose of the Houses is to create an environment where children can lead a standardized life, while receiving medical treatment, because being able to be with their family or to interact with other children outside the hospital, influences very favorably in their recovery.

The participants of the project have had the opportunity to receive firsthand information about the work of the volunteers and to see in first person the structure of the building. The house has complete rooms with bathroom for each family and common facilities such as kitchen, leisure and rest rooms, library, games etc. In addition, it has more than 150 volunteers who help every week to carry out different activities for children and their families, helping to create a leisure and participation environment.
