Hello Alexandra, would you give us your opinion about the project?
I met incredibly friendly people, had a training course with plenty of useful pieces of information- from different study areas, the schedule was built so that we get to also enjoy the surroundings and the accommodation was more than I wished for. All in all, the entire “Exploit Your Diversity” Training Course exceeded all my expectations.
What does “diversity” mean for you?
For me, diversity means being human beings, as diversity is present in any relationship set between 2 any persons on this planet. The set of characteristics (physical and mental, skills, aptitudes) which characterize any of us is unique, which means that we are all unique, we are all diverse.
Can you give us your idea on how to resolve problems related to diversity?
An efficient means by which we could solve problems related to diversity would be making videos about people belonging to different social groups, who have done something truly important. The aim of these videos is to make people aware of the fact that nobody should be judged by the social group (s)he belongs to, but rather anyone ought to be appreciated for the positive contribution (s)he has brought. Social media needs to help these videos get viral, in order to for the positive pieces of information to get spread.
In addition, face-to-face meetings between people belonging to different social groups would help in what concerns realizing the similarities between these persons and, therefore, diminishing the perceived importance of the differences.
