Niks Stara participated in the Training Course “The NEET Challenge” organized by PROJUVEN in Torremolinos, Spain
Hello Niks Can you give us your opinion about the project “The NEET Challenge“?
The project opened my eyes and got me surprised regarding the real situation where many young people are not working or even studying and what a huge impact it has on our economies! Loved the everyday individual projects we had to make and present, because it made the understanding of the NEET situation more clear day by day. Also we had plenty of great time having fun, discussing what we learned and what’s the situation in each one of our countries.
According to you, what support works best for young people at risk of becoming NEET?
Programs that help young people find their passion and/ or career they like. I believe that fundamentally NEETS are a product of low-self esteem and a lack of motivation, which can be gained by mastering something, learning new skills, exploring and the easiest path to obtain those are when you consistently do what you really enjoy.
What is the most important thing you have learned during the training? How do you plan to share and use your knowledge?
The most important thing would be the awareness that the project has given me about how many NEETS there actually are and given me the understanding of main causes and ways to help them. When meeting new people or old friends that are NEETS I plan to find out how they’re doing and encourage them to find the thing they really care about so they can go all in and become happier and more valuable in the marketplace.
