Asociación Projuven has dedicated this Thursday, 23 of March, to citizen awareness of immigration issues and human rights. In the framework of the informative platform Projuven International Network on Refugees – PINOR, was held a meeting with Spanish youths where we had the chance to talk face to face about the current problems of our time.
The main theme of the talk was “The phenomenon of the migration crisis in Europe and Spain“. The conflict in Syria and the instability in neighboring countries of the European Union have increased the influx of immigrants. Therefore, the management of the migratory crisis has become one of the priorities for the European Union. In this situation it is important to find shared points between migrants and people living in the host country, so that mutual understanding can be reached and be achieved peaceful and respectful coexistence .This can increase the possibilities for integration and strengthen links between people of different cultures.
Projuven has presented to the students one of the initiatives promoted in Europe and Spain, which trying to bring together people from different cultures and raise awareness of the refugee problems. We have talked about asylum rights and the need to accommodate, not just those our governments are willing to accept as refugees, but all those who are not and who they call “illegal immigrants.”
We would like to thank all the young people who have attended our talk and have given their opinion on the migration issue and the refugee problem. It is important to know that young people are aware of what is happening in Europe and in the world.
Europe is one , Europe is for all of us.
