Nicoleta participated in the Training Course “One Earth, One Chance” organized by PROJUVEN in Benalmádena, Spain
Hello Nicoleta! Can you give us your opinion about the project “One Earth, One Chance“ and Erasmus + experience?
I had a great experience during the project “ One Earth, One Chance”. As it was my first time participating in an Erasmus plus programme, it made a significant impact on me. The project was well-structured, managed and the topics were well presented and well discussed. I was provided with new knowledge and competences on climate change. Also I loved interacting with participants from Denmark, Belgium, Romania, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland and Spain and getting a multicultural perspective on the issue.
What are some of the biggest challenges you see in addressing climate change, and how do you think we can overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges in addressing climate change is that it requires a collective effort from individuals, governments, and businesses. It is important that people understand the urgency of the issue and take action to reduce their carbon footprint. Governments need to implement policies and regulations that encourage sustainable practices and reduce carbon emissions. Businesses need to invest in renewable energy and adopt environmentally friendly practices. Another challenge is the lack of political will to take action on climate change, which can be influenced by the interests of powerful corporations and industries.
We must educate the public about climate change and its effects in order to meet these challenges. Additionally, we must demand more sustainable business practices from governments and corporations.
What are some specific actions you plan to take to reduce your own carbon footprint and contribute to the fight against climate change?
Some specific steps I plan to take to decrease my own carbon footprint is reducing my meat consumption by becoming a flexitarian, recycling, biking more, using public transportation and carpooling instead of driving, switching from shopping from fast trend fashion shops to second hand stores, and being aware of my carbon footprint in daily life and continuously finding new ways to decrease it. I also intend to continue my education on the subject, raise awareness among my friends and family, and do my own research. In addition, I will keep supporting candidates and measures that put the environment first and fight climate change.
